What is the Dual-Cam?
The Dual-Cam is a camera system comprised of a forward facing and driver facing camera along with a GPS tracking device.
When the vehicle ignition is switched on, the camera powers up and will start recording. Depending on the size of SD card, you can see up to 40 hours of video recording on a 64GB card.
Yes, the camera is constantly recording when the ignition is on, BUT….
You are unable to remotely live view this camera system and by default, audio recording is not available.
Is the Dual-Cam recording me all the time?
The dual-Cam can be setup in different ways depending on the use case.
The most common arrangement is for the camera to take a snapshot photo when the ignition is turned on and send a video recording when a green driving or crash event is detected.
when will I see the photos or videos?
To view the photos or videos sent to the GPS platform, Simply click on the photo or video icons in the top menu bar
Can I manually retrieve videos and photos?
Yes, manually retrieving video or photos can be done in two different ways.
Firstly, you can manually request a photo or video (up to 15 seconds at the time of request) remotely via the web platform. This is done by utilising the object control feature in the top menu bar. Keep in mind that photo and video requests are dependent on the trackers signal. If there is a poor signal, this may take some time to send through the photo or video.
You can view our Object Control guide to learn about this function and download the command templates: Object Control Guide
The second way to retrieve photos and video is to remove the SD cards form the camera, making sure the camera is powered off first.
Connecting the SD cards to a computer and using the video player in the link below to review and extract media from the SD cards.
